Drumming Prayer
Let's drum & listen together - to ourselves, to each other and to what wants to change in the world through us.
From the very first time I worked with shaman drums, I felt how they connect me to the primal pulse that moves all living things. The first beat of our mother's heart that we receive as some kind of sacred signal signal of life itself, as we grow in her womb. The rhythm of the waves. The rustling of the trees and bushes. The bird's song, the rocks breath. Pure connection within and without. And as such, it is one of the most powerful and simple signals there is, in order to communicate with the world within and around us. When we drum with intention, we move through time and space. Clearing, remembering, transforming. Not to escape reality, but to enter it more fully.
Drumming becomes our shared pulse, a rhythm that grounds us into presence, into our physical body and reminds us of the possibilities - and responsibilities - to live change by the way we show up in the world. I invite you to a drumming prayer in action and motion. Drumming for peace, honesty and unconditional love, for personal transformation as the foundation for collective transformation, for whatever we feel needs to be addressed. We let the rhythms move through us first and from there ripple outward - into our relationships, our daily lives, our communities and the living field of the Earth.
This is an invitation to the simple, physical act of gathering in community, nourishing real life human connection and remembering the ancient ways, creating accountability, practising together. Listening, adjusting and finding rhythm together, just like in life. Welcome!
Come with your drum, another instrument or simply yourself. Everyone is welcome.
We will meet outside around the fire if the weather permits. Participation is donation based, please bring a dish to share.
