Creating your own shaman drum is a YES to your connection with the Primal Pulse that moves all things in the visible and unvisible. A profound journey into trust, commitment and surrender, being moved by what is present within your being. On a very human level, it is fun, craftsmanship and spending time together in a meditative hands-on activity. Whatever it is for you: Welcome to the journey!

I offer intimate Drum Building Workshops on Bornholm - 1:1 or in small groups - that stand out in their powerful simplicity. Rooted in a deep connection to the physical and drawing on the innate wisdom of our inner shaman, I suppport you in weaving your very own drum into being. Each process is very personal, individual and empowering and my innermost intention is to support you in staying present to the insights and gifts that your personal journey holds for you.

 

Giving birth

To create our own drum is to enter into quiet ceremony with ourselves. It is a tender act of remembering - of listening inward, of choosing with care, of shaping something that will melt with our expression, our voice, our strength, our vulnerability, our story.

The journey itself is full of symbolism, connecting to the wheel of life, weaving the threads of what we are, meeting and working through tension and resistance, allowing to release what is done and centering ourselves anew, as we create this simple, yet powerful tool that becomes our close companion on our path from here.

The drum is connection, vibration, presence, breath. Just as the gong, it is one of the oldest known ceremonial instruments on earth. It holds our intention, our wildness, our wholeness. Each beat can clear, awaken and anchor. Each meeting with our drum becomes a return - to our inner fire, our deep knowing, our essence and the essence of all things.

Materials are sustainably sourced from Germany and chosen with care and respect. I guide you through choosing size, wood and hide and throughout the whole process of weaving the drum itself, to create a drum that melts with you from the very beginning. Working in small groups allows us to birth a drum within a day, but extended workshops are possible - get in touch! By birthing your unique drum in sacred ceremony, you’re also rebirthing yourself in a self-empowering setting, connecting to your very core and to the inner shaman that lives within you.

Prices depend on size and choice of materials, but usually start from 3.000 DKK for a one day workshop all inclusive.

Please note: As we are working with natural materials and individual craftsmanship, I cannot guarantee a certain outcome in sound or appearance. Materials may break during the process, which is usually related to an energetic release of tension and part of the journey. Broken materials can usually be repared, though. My invitation is to stay open and trusting the process while surrendering the outcome. We’ll do our best to accompany your drum on its way into creation.
